Stress is a natural reaction to life experiences, but when not managed it can become a significant factor in many mental health and physical health concerns, including: anxiety, depression, heart disease, insomnia, and compromised immune system. Both your mind and body can get exhausted by the chronic stress that you experience daily, and as a result, it is important for you to set time aside regularly to check-in with yourself and allow time for your mind and body to relax. The first step is to identify the source(s) of the stress and its trigger(s). Then, find healthy strategies to help you cope.
Below are some stress management tips and coping skills to manage stress:

Practice Healthy Boundaries
Learn how to say “no” when it is becoming too much for you
Limit your time with people or situation that increases your stress
Pare down your to-do list
Deep breathing
Research has shown that this practice is effective in calming stress and anxiety, increasing focus, and is good for respiratory and cardiovascular health.
Physical Activities
This does not have to be a strenuous workout routine, but get your body moving. Take a walk, dance, run, or swim.
Positive Distraction
Lighten your mood by watching a sitcom you enjoy, read a comic, or talk to someone who makes you smile or laugh
Do something you enjoy everyday.
While everyone experiences stress everyday, it is important to recognize if the stress has become unmanageable or is interfering with your daily life. Professional help, such as joining a support group or seeing a therapist for individual counseling could be helpful for you.
